H.I.S. Daughters House Outreach Ministries
Welcome to H.I.S. Daughters House Outreach Ministries

H.I.S. Daughters House Outreach Ministries, Inc. is a nonprofit organization ministering to at-risk families; especially those with teenage mothers and troubled youth. We are a faith based organization to minister to at-risk families by being a liaison between youth and their parents/guardians.

We provide a supportive network for families by offering support and guidance in:

  • Christian fellowship and one’s Spiritual growth
  • Enhancement of one’s self-worth and improvement of their self-esteem
  • Completion of education
  • Education of risk factors for pre-marital sex while encouraging abstinence
  • Health education and parenting skills to teen with children
  • Provide mentors to those in need
  • Workshops on the risks of gang and drug activity
  • Assistance to those who are safely and appropriately attempting to re-unite their families
  • Activities for the betterment of the community
  • Promote cultural awareness through field trips and activities

H.I.S. Daughters House Outreach Ministries, Inc. works with youth in our community and in neighboring communities. Through our programs we provide a degree of mentorship by creating and doing activities to keep youth busy and positive avenues for their energy. Too often youth do not have these positive activities and become caught up in negative activities. Typically, this organization works with youth who are troubled and need of a positive influence in their lives. Our intention is to work with pregnant teens but happily none of the youth we have worked with have become pregnant.

Education Program

H.I.S. Daughters House Outreach Ministries, Inc. also educates girls in our program on topics such as the effects of gangs, drugs, and alcohol on their lives, their families, and the community. To assist with this education we have asked law enforcement officers to volunteer their time to speak with the girls. We have also taken them on tours of area college campuses to expose them to the educational opportunities available to them. At one point the girls participated in a cotillion sponsored by an area sorority that introduced the girls to individuals who can help mentor them in their interests. One example is a girl interested in cooking was introduced to a woman who does gourmet cooking and took her under her wing to teach her about cooking.

There are times when parents of the girls in our program ask for our assistance with school related issues. We have attended superintendant’s meetings as a liaison for parents to speak on behalf of a child when the parents were uncomfortable or unsure about speaking out. We have also helped tutor girls that were having trouble with their school work. When a girl in the program needs assistance with school work she can contact one of our volunteers to set up times they can meet. The volunteer will then assist them in understanding the concepts they have difficulty with.
